What is an Athletic Trainer?
Athletic trainers are healthcare professionals who work in collaboration with a physician in order to provide preventative services, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
How can Athletic Trainers help?
Athletic trainers work with a wide variety of patients from professional athletes to industrial workers. Typically, athletic trainers are the first healthcare providers on the scene when an injury occurs and are trained in first aid and emergency care. Additionally, they are heavily involved in the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries. Athletic trainer often help prevent injuries by advising on the proper use of equipment and applying protective or injury preventative devices such as tape, bandages, and braces.
